Dear Friends!
Welcome to October! Can you believe it?!? We are now less than 3 months away from Christmas! Just think, before long, it will be time to get out all the decorations again! ha. Christmas is not the only thing getting close....in a little under 4 short months, we will be setting sail aboard the "Carnival Destiny". To say our family is excited for this cruise is an understatement! ha. We checked with the travel agent just a few weeks ago and we were thrilled with the number of folks that have already made their reservations! Don't wait too long, make your reservations today! If you haven't picked up a brochure at one of our concerts, call or email us and we will mail one to you. Or you can get the information at the very bottom of this e-mail.
Judy Plasters has held a Gospel Festival at the community center in Litchfield, IL for several years now. This lady puts so much work and effort into this event and you can tell by the tremendous crowds that turn out. We were thrilled to be back on the program and we shared the evening with, The Wanda Mountain Boys, Crimson Gold, The Patriots, Joanne Clark and Sheron Cadle. Everyone did a wonderful job and we certainly enjoyed meeting the Patriots and Crimson Gold for the very 1st time. After the concert, we all raided the local Denny's and had a fun time of fellowship with one another.
It was a very short night as we had to unload at 6:00 the next morning. We have sang at 1st United Methodist Church in Winchester for many, many years. It was scary to see how many hands went up when we asked how many of them remembered the "Singing R's" from the '60's!! ha. So many in that church have known the Rueter family since Mike was a baby. We sang for the 8 & 10 am services and then joined the church in a wonderful potluck afterwards. Our thanks to Pastor Robyn and all the church for once again inviting The Chosen Ones.
After enjoying some much needed afternoon naps, we headed over to Quincy where we were blessed to be with Pastor Ken Worcestor and Faith Christian Church for the very 1st time. They have a beautiful facility and we had a tremendous time with them! Before the concert, we all joined together for a potluck and then we did our best to sing on a full stomach. Our name was brought to Pastor Worcestor by a couple in the church who has heard us a few times all the way down in south Texas! Isn't it amazing how the Lord works?!? We run into people literally all over the country that have heard us either in Texas or Florida during the winter months. It's a small world! Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening and getting to know Pastor Ken. We look forward to a return visit!
We continually receive e-mails and cards of encouragement in the mail. Folks, we simply cannot tell you how much we appreciate the love and kindness that you all show to our family. Our prayer is that we can be a blessing to you just as you all have been a blessing to us!
On the Journey! The Chosen Ones
