DearFriends!
We hope this finds everyone doing well and enjoying the beautiful fall weather! Before we go any further, we would like to say a big thank you to all the ones who have called or e-mailed us about our new CD. We have received a tremendous response from it so far. We praise the Lord for using our music in the way that He is. It is such a blessing to hear of how the words of the songs are ministering to you! For those of you who didn't see it last week, we left the link up (lower left hand corner of this e-mail) for you to click on and read SoGospel's review of our CD. You are welcome to leave your comments below the review as you will see a few have.
Last Saturday we were in Edinburg, IL for an all day sing in the city park. All the community churches got together to put on this event. It was so good to see all the different denominations come together and join each other in worship. Sharing the program along with us was the Wanda Mountain Boys, Hearts 4 One, The Dowds, Saved by Grace, New Blood Band and many others. The Lord blessed us with beautiful weather and a pretty descent turn out considering it was the first time for this event. Pastor Denny Hamilton and all the area pastors put alot of work into making the day come together and we appreciate their love and desire to spread the Gospel within their community. Joining us that day was a dear lady by the name of Mary Snapp. We met Mary just a few months ago and she has already become like family to us! She drove all the way down from Chicago to spend the day with us and it was an added blessing to be able to have dinner with her that night at Ryan's Steakhouse.
After dinner we pointed the bus towards Decatur and 2nd Church of God. The church invited us for their annual Homecoming Service and it was great to be with them! Our concert was on Sunday afternoon so we were blessed to be able to just sit back and be fed during the morning worship service. Pastor Randy Jenkins from Lancaster, PA brought the morning message. We have known Randy and his entire family for a LONG LONG time! He first met our family about 25 years ago. His Father, Gordon Jenkins used to pastor 2nd Church of God and we have sung for his brother Keith several times at Boiling Springs Church of God there in Decatur. Gordon and Keith were both at the service and it was almost like a family reunion! The entire Jenkins family has been such a huge blessing to The Chosen Ones over the years and we always enjoy being with them. After the service the ladies had a potluck prepared and then we all gathered back together for the afternoon concert. We wish to thank Pastor Roy Pritts for once again inviting our family to come to 2nd Church! Thank you for all your kindness and hospitality!
If we are in your area this weekend, we'd love to see you! We pray the Lord will bless you in a great way as you continue to faithfully serve Him.
On the Journey!
The Chosen Ones
