Dec. 5, 2008

Dear Friends, One of the most anticipated concerts of each year for us is our annual Christmas banquet. Many of you have been coming to the banquet since we started it in 2005. I think you will agree with us that it just gets better and better each year and this past Saturday night was no exception! As we mentioned last week, this was the first time that the dinner has sold out! Praise the Lord! There was a sweet spirit in the Crossroads Center that night. We would personally like to thank Emma Grace and her backup singers (aka The Lesters) for once again doing a fabulous job! :-) They sang songs from their brand new Christmas CD that was just released a couple months ago. We love The Lesters like family and so appreciate their kind spirits. When it comes to family harmony, The Lesters are tops. We love ya guys!

We are so excited to announce that we and the Lesters are working on putting together 3 separate Christmas banquets next year! One date is already booked in Morton, IL at East Side Bible Church. Please keep an eye out for further information....we can hardly wait!

We pulled into Pekin, IL at about 2:30 Sunday morning as the snow was blowing like crazy. It was a very short night as we had to load in at 6:00am. We sang for both morning services at the 1st Church of God, and what a time we had! Pastor Plogger and the congregation always welcome us with open arms. We love to see the passion they have for reaching their community for the Lord. Sue Cluck was the one responsible for bringing our family to 1st COG a few years ago. It's always so good to see her and "the gang"! The Lord was clearly present in both services, and we are so thankful for each opportunity we have to be used of Him!

By the time the 2 morning services were over, the ground was solid white. It was absolutely beautiful! We carefully made our way back down south to Morrisonville, IL. 1st Presbyterian Church hosts our family twice a year. Once in the spring and then once during the Christmas season. Despite the sleet, snow and bitter wind, a great crowd turned out to join us for a Christmas concert. The folks in Morrisonville are always so kind and generous to our family and for that we say Thank You! We also want to say a special Thank You to all the gentlemen who were there to help us load in and load out! You will never know how much we appreciate that!

Everytime we come to Morrisonville,Mr. & Mrs. Vern Lytle invite us to their home afterwards for homemade FRIED CHICKEN! Hallelujah! :-) Folks, Nancy Lytle can flat out fry a bird like no one else can! HA (She does just as good on the desserts too!) We always enjoy going to their house and being able to just sit back, relax and visit. Thank you, Vern & Nancy, for another wonderful evening! We are already looking forward to next time!

We covet your prayers as travel this time of year can be rather"slippery". We have received several e-mails/notes this week of people letting us know they are praying for us. Friends, we can not tell you how much that means to us!

Remember this Christmas season, to truly celebrate the REASON for the season!

Blessings! The Chosen Ones

TIRE UPDATE:We praise the Lord that we have received $705.00 towards our goal of $3,000 to put 4 new tires on our coach. From the bottom of our hearts we say THANK YOU! Continue to pray that the Lord will provide to meet this need.

PRAYER REQUEST!

Many you have had the opportunity to meet out Nanny, Pat Gobel, and her husband Glen. They have become a huge part of our ministry and we love them dearly. Last Monday morning, Glen was rushed to the ER in Springfield with headaches, loss of vision in both eyes, and paralysis on his left side. To say the least, it was quite a scare. All day Monday,Doctors ran tests on him trying to find the problem. His vision, and movement on his left side, slowly came back as Monday went along. Finally, late Tuesday morning, it was determined that Glen suffered a Hemiplegic Migraine. He was released Tuesday afternoon and is currently resting at home trying to regain his strength.

We ask that you pray for Glen, Pat and their entire family during this time and that the Lord will bring complete healing to his body!
